Centering upon a gold cameo depicting The Great Sphinx, The Great Pyramid, and the waters of the river Nile, this brooch is loaded with symbols comprising the crescent moon and the lotus flowers. Both of them played important roles in ancient Egyptian beliefs. The design on the front face of the brooch is repeated as a detailed engraving on its back side. All in all, this Egyptian Revival brooch is like an architectural conquest.
